Started Locally,Expanded Globally

2015Launch of New PayoffThree co-founders, Islam Shawky, Alain El-Hajj, and Mostafa Menessy, came together and started Paymob, a payment processing platform. The trio had a dream to change the payments and fintech ecosystem in Egypt

2016Launch of New PayoffIn September, Paymob raised its first funding round, a venture round from leading Egyptian investment firm A15.

2018Launch of New PayoffPaymob acquired its first payment facilitator license.

2020Launch of New PayoffWith a desire to grow further, the co-founders continued their growth plans for Paymob, adding more financial products and services. They also enticed new investors to help shape the company Paymob raised a Series A round worth $3.5 million, led by FMO and Global Ventures. .

2021Launch of New PayoffContinuing its growth trajectory, Paymob raised another round in April, this time worth $15 million from current investor Global Ventures

2022Launch of New Payoff For many companies, 2022 was just another year. But for Paymob, 2022 was a year of expansion. Taking its growth plans to a new level, Paymob raised $50 million in a Series B funding round through 12 investors, chief among whom were global names like Clay Point Investors, Kora, A15, Global Ventures, and PayPal Ventures. Paymob also expanded its operations to Pakistan, where it has been serving merchants ever since.

2023Launch of New PayoffPaymob took its business to the next level and expanded its operations to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

2024Launch of New PayoffPaymob continues to expand its presence in the MENA region, particularly the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Paymob commenced operations, supporting merchants with physical and online payment solutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
